SoSophie Busts Out with
Co-Pro Deal
by Ryan Ball
Animation Magazine Online
Heading into MIPCOM, channelzero
ent. has just signed a deal wit AGOGO> Corp.
to produce three half-hour episodes of the series
SoSophie, starring the voice of Carmen
Electra. While no animation has yet been seen,
busty Sophie has been building somewhat of a fan
base by appearing in Animation Magazine
and at various trade shows over the past year.
SoSophie tells the story
of a teenage girl and her relationships as she
struggles to find out who she is and who she wants
to be. And she does all this while racing motorcycles
and jumping over burning cars.
Production has already begun
on the first of the three episodes and will appear
at NATPE in January. Each installment will continue
a single storyline and will be released as a direct-to-video
feature in the fall of 2004.
Carmen Electra, who followed in
Pamela Andersons footsteps as a Baywatch
babe, again takes a cue from the Stripperella
stars career with her turn as the voice
of the sexiest redhead toon since Jessica Rabbit.
The shows creator, Dave
Warren, will be at MIPCOM in Cannes next week
to meet with buyers and distributors.

NATPE The Unexpected Ani-Deals

Dave
Warren and potential voice for SoSophie,
Carmen Electra. |
A much slower NATPE, down in
attendance size from previous years by more than
50%, turned out to be a wheeling and dealing opportunity
for stalwarts and a definite strong prequel for
MIP-TV in March. Although few animation deals
were officially announced last week, Animation
Magazine was told about several upcoming contracts
of significant interest. ShoPro Ent., the original
producers of Pokemon and the new Cartoon
Network hit Hamtaro, brought two new shows,
Megaman and Mirmo Zibang! to the
New Orleans-based market and received considerable
buzz.
Mirmo Zibang! is a charmer
about some really high-maintenance fairies, while
Megaman involves the virtual world as young
internet users send out avatars to do battle with
evil. According to sources within ShoPro, a major
deal will be announced for Megaman within
the next two weeks.
In other showfloor news, Dave
Warren, creator of adult-action series SoSophie
and head of Channelzero, met with super-model
Carmen Electra to discuss the possibility of Electra
voicing the lead character of Sophie. Electra
expressed extreme interest and, once again, a
deal could be announced soon for both Electra's
involvement and the future home of the series
itself. More...

his tab by doing odd jobs for Big John, owner
of The Bada Boom Room.

Blame it on the Nipples or Dave Warren.
by Rita Street
Animation Magazine Online
There's
been a lot of raucous going on at this year's
NATPE; a lot of name calling from folks at Warner
Bros. and some ratheranimated responses from the
folks at NATPE, but nothing raised the eyebrowsof
attendees more than the work of a lone animator
named Dave Warren. Thestory goes like this·
